Kyle Vierck serves as Athletic Director and head men's soccer coach at Wenatchee Valley College and is a member of the Student Services Leadership Team under the direction of Vice President of Student Services, Dr. Chio Flores.

Vierck joined Wenatchee Valley College in the summer of 2018, arriving after a two-year stint in South Bend, Indiana at the University of Notre Dame where he served as the Student-Athlete Careers Program Director.  Working with over 800 Irish student-athletes and recent alumni was a remarkable opportunity, but ultimately life in the Pacific Northwest kept calling him home.

“My wife Trina and I, both of our families are from the northwest, and while we will miss the tremendous people we had the chance to work and live with in Indiana, it is a great gift to come home and raise our family here in Washington,” Vierck said.

Prior to the stint in Indiana, Vierck served as the Assistant Athletic Director at Columbia Basin College under Scott Rogers.  Vierck was the head men’s soccer coach at CBC from 2008-2012, reigniting a program that had been in a lull following its only NWAC title in 1999, a team Vierck captained.  His teams never finished below .500 in his five seasons, making postseason appearances in each of his last three seasons at the helm before resigning to focus more of his attention on his young and growing family.

“My family and our values mean everything to me.  Family, Growth, and Health, these are the filters that guide every decision I make.  At the time, I knew it was the right thing to do to step away and create more space to love my wife and children.  While I missed coaching, I didn’t miss a minute of those early years and I couldn’t be happier for it.”

Vierck has been tremendously influenced by great teachers, mentors and coaches throughout his time as an athlete and coach, and his role in administration at Wenatchee Valley is a perfect fit.  “Student-athletes are some of the finest raw material available for shaping our future. To be able to be a part of their lives at such a critical juncture, to partner with them in their development, and provide a safe and challenging environment for them to grow, it is simply the greatest job in the world,” Vierck said.

Vierck attended Columbia Basin College and played men’s soccer in 1998-’99 after returning from service in the United States Marine Corps, where he continued to serve honorably in the reserves until 2004.  He transferred and played one season at Butler University in Indianapolis before transferring to MSU-Billings.  He completed his undergraduate degree in K-8 education from Montana State-Billings in 2002. He later returned to school and completed a Masters’ Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga in 2013.

Vierck is married to his wife Trina, a Confluence Health Hospice Nurse in the Wenatchee Valley.  Together they have two beautiful daughters, Avery (9) and Callie (7).  They are an avid Crossfit family, and they enjoy international travel, watersports, and simply spending time outside, often with great friends and family.
