Knights down Hawks behind hot start

Pasco, WA- The WVC women's basketball team got off to a sizzling first quarter in their East region matchup at Columbia Basin Wednesday and never trailed, en route to a 69-54 victory.

The Knights had big nights from multiple players, with first-year post Natalie Andreas leading the way with 18 points, including a perfect 6-of-6 from the line.  Chasity Spady had 15 after 50% shooting from beyond the arc, and Kiara Steen chipped in 10 to go along with 6 rebounds.

Sami Sanders led the way for the host Hawks with 15, but it was not enough, as the Knights pushed their record to 16-7 (6-3 conference) as they inch closer to the NWAC postseason.

The Knights are on the road again the Saturday to take on Blue Mountain before heading back to Smith Gym and welcoming North Idaho next Wednesday at 5:30pm.
