Iris Rodriguez joined the WVC Athletics staff in June of 2022 as the head softball coach.

Rodriguez spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach for the Division 1 Portland State softball team. In her four years she assisted the Vikings to three Big Sky tournament appearances and one Big Sky Championship title. This allowed for a berth into the first round of the NCAA Softball Regional Tournament at the University of Washington site. She worked primarily with infielders and hitters.

She spent one season working with the infielders at Mt. Hood Community College in 2018. The Saints went 27-16 overall and finished second in the NWAC South Region with an 18-8 record.

Rodriguez spent two years playing at Wenatchee Valley College before finishing her career at Corban University. She was a starting shortstop and a major contributor in the offensive lineup at both stops.

At Wenatchee Valley she was named an NFCA NWAC All-American, was a two-time East Region First Team All-Region selection, East Region MVP, and WVC Female Athlete of the Year.

She finished her outstanding career as a two-time selection for the NFCA West Region First Team and a two-time All-Cascade Collegiate Conference First Team selection at Corban University. She was named an NAIA All-American and was awarded Corban’s Female Athlete of the Year award. Rodriguez was a contributing member on a Corban team that finished second at the NAIA World Series.
