Wenatchee, WA-Head softball coach Laurel Wyatt, who had been toiling with the decision to step away from her role in the sport to pursue further education and other personal opportunities, confirmed just that with Athletic Director Kyle Vierck following a strong spring season in 2019.

"Coach Wyatt has been a tremendous asset to our department, to the sport, and she will be missed without a doubt," Vierck said.  "She is an integral part of the WVC Knights fastpitch family, and has supported our student-athletes in a tremendous way in her time at the helm of the Knights program, one in which she starred herself as a player.  She is a driven competitor, a compassionate leader, and a great example for her student-athletes and finding her replacement will be a certain challenge.  We are grateful for her."

A search for the next softball coach will begin immediately.
