Aaron Vaughn is in his second year as the head baseball coach at WVC. Prior to accepting the position at WVC, Vaughn was an assistant coach for three years at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA. Vaughn previously coached for three years at Ferris High School in Spokane, WA while also giving private lessons at Athletic Edge Spokane.

Vaughn played baseball for 4 years at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. Vaughn continued his playing career after college, signing with the Houston Astros to play minor league baseball. Vaughn also played independent professional baseball in the Frontier league for the Joliet Slammers. After his playing career, Vaughn earned a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.

Vaughn is heavily involved on campus at WVC, where he is the assistant manager of the Student Recreation Center and teaches physical education courses. Outside of his job in athletics, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, playing any sports, going for a run, biking, and fly fishing.  Originally from Tucson, AZ, Vaughn moved to the Pacific Northwest after college and plans to stay here for a long time. He is married to his wife Melissa and has a baby girl who will be 2 this year.

Vaughn details his coaching philosophy in the following statement: “I believe firmly in doing things right on and off the field. The way you take care of business in both areas will dictate the personal growth: athletically, academically, spiritually, and growth as a young man. We believe in treating each other as a family and supporting each other through thick and thin. Helping young men develop for their future is my priority and baseball is a great asset to do that. I had a great coach once tell me 'A leader is a person who says the things that need to be said, and does the things that need to be done.' It’s not always easy to do the right things but when our whole team commits to this we achieve great things."
