Knights go cold in third, fall to Peninsula

The Knights built up a sizable first half lead, but a 17-0 run by Peninsula in the third quarter doomed the Knights on the road in game 1 of the NWAC Crossover.

Wenatchee led at the break and were fully in control of the game it seemed behind a collective scoring effort and strong work on the glass, leading 46-29 midway into the third quarter.  Then it all went cold.

Peninsula stacked up a run while the Knights struggled to find the hoop, and the teams headed into the final frame knotted at 46.

Trading momentum swings as the game came down to the wire, each team had an answer for the other and neither was able to pull away until a late layup pushed the Pirates out to a two point lead and the Knights weren't able to answer ahead of the horn.

WVC is back in action in the Crossover again today as they face host Tacoma at 4pm.
