Last second 3 from Michels lifts Knights to road victory

Spokane, WA- Saturday was another shot at redemption for Jeremy Harden and the men's basketball team at Wenatchee Valley College. A disappointing finish to an epic contest at home Wednesday versus North Idaho wasn't enough to stifle the Knights for too long, as last minute heroics in the form of a 3-pointer from Chance Michels brought an important victory to the Knights, 78-76 over East-leading Spokane.

The Knights and Sasquatch battled into overtime in the last meeting between the pair, with the Sasquatch eventually coming out on top.  This time would be different.

Spokane was up big at the half behind strong play from Garrett White and ice cold shooting of their own making, going 0-6 from beyond the arc.

Four threes and effective execution at the line in the second half from Chance Michels though, and the Knights were right back in the contest.  Michels delivered the dagger after a late timeout by Harden, and the Knights took home the "W."

Michels led all scorers with 18, while Malik Parsons and Abdul Abdullah tallied double figures for Wenatchee.

After a first half barrage from White, the Knights were able to hold him to just four points in the second half, a key in gathering the win.

The Knights will host Big Bend on sophomore night this Wednesday, before rounding out their season with contests at Yakima and Treasure Valley.
